Welcome to the Advanced Dental of Las Cruces blog!
Accidents can happen fast. You may find yourself involved in a car crash, or take an unexpected fall at the pool this summer. If you should find yourself in such a situation where you lose one or more teeth, it will be painful, traumatic, and embarrassing. You will want to find a good, permanent solution as soon as possible.
If your life has been disrupted by adult tooth loss or you simply wish to stabilize your dentures, we can make your life better with dental implants.
Implants have become something of a specialty around here. That’s because Dr. Reiter knows how important having a complete smile can be to your continued well-being. This is what has driven him to expand his experience in this realm and also to pursue the related technical training in placing dental implants.
So, we know a thing or two about the process and we our proud to say that we handle all implant procedures in-house to spare you some time, money, and uncertainty that would go along with farming part of the process out.
Read on to hear more about it, and then be sure to follow up with us to kickstart the process.
Are Implants For You?
To find out if you are a good candidate for implants, we will take a series of X-rays and other images to get a feel for the health of your oral cavity and jaw.
Once we run our tests, you will have a chance to chat with Dr. Reiter about your options, and he will let you know what his suggestions are for next steps.
In the event that you are a suitable recipient of dental implants, we’ll walk you through the procedure and the aftercare treatment so you know just what you are getting into. Then, we’ll make it happen for you!
How Do Implants Work?
Here’s the deal: implants are titanium posts that get screwed into your bone to replace the root of your natural tooth. Once the post is fused into position, we will be able to attach an abutment to the implant to firmly hold your restoration in place. These restorations include crowns, dental bridges, or dentures.
You will look and feel a whole lot better straightaway.
Plus, you will also have restored biting power. This means that you can go back to eating the foods you love, and the fiber-rich items that keep your health on-track. If you’ve sought our dental implants in order to stabilize your dentures, you’ll be able to eat with confidence. Doesn’t that sound nice?
