At Advanced Dental of Las Cruces, your dental health is our #1 priority! See our emergency dentist for the urgent dental care you need, when you need it.
Dental emergencies are no laughing matter, and we take the emergency care of our patients seriously here at Advanced Dental in Las Cruces.
What is a dental emergency?
Technically speaking, a dental emergency is any situation that is an immediate threat to the health of your smile. That is a broad definition, so here are a few of the situations Dr. Reiter and our team see on a regular basis that qualify.
- Cracked Tooth – This really depends on how severe the crack is. Minor cracks can wait for a scheduled appointment, whereas severe cracks put your tooth in immediate danger.
- Broken Tooth – A broken tooth opens up your tooth to possible infection and should be capped with a dental crown by Dr. Reiter as quickly as possible. Call our office and we will get you in for the care you need.
- Dislodged Tooth – Time is not your friend in this situation. The longer your tooth is outside of your mouth, the less chance there is to reinsert it. Call us immediately for help.
What should I do when I have a dental emergency?
You should call our office immediately at (575) 680-1314 to get first aid instructions and to let us know you are coming in.
How long will I have to wait to see the dentist?
We will see all emergency patients the same day they come into the office. We know how important your smile is, and we don’t want you to be in pain. We will be there when you need us.
What if my emergency is after hours?
We will open after hours and on weekends for our existing patients. If you are not a patient of Advanced Dental, we will see you at the start of business the following weekday.
What should I do if I have a tooth knocked out?
Find the tooth and clean it off with warm water. Be sure to only hold it by the crown (white part that shows when you smile). After it is clean, put it in a cup of milk, call us, and get to the office right away. The clock is ticking on the life of your tooth.
Call our office at (575) 680-1314 immediately if you have an emergency.
