Getting dental cleanings and dental exams twice a year helps keep your mouth healthy and can prevent costly procedures down the road. When you come to Advanced Dental of Las Cruces for a dental checkup, we want you to be completely relaxed and comfortable throughout your visit. We have a system in place that helps you feel like you are at home while you are here. From our friendly front desk staff to our compassionate and caring dentist, Dr. Reiter, you will be taken care of every step of the way.
We take the stress out of your first dental appointment with us, from filling out your patient forms when you come in to the time you step out of our doors. When you come in, we will ask you to fill out some basic information that tells us a bit more about you, your dental health, and your medical health. By having this information on file, we can customize your appointment to meet your specific needs. If you’d like to fill out your forms before you arrive to save time, you can do so by downloading them online here.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST VISIT
After you are called back into the treatment room, you will be able to see our cozy office environment, patient rooms, and our dental technology. You will have the opportunity to see the dentist first for a meet and greet. We feel that meeting Dr. Reiter first is a great way to make your appointment feel more personal.
After you meet the dentist, you have the option of staying and having your dental cleaning, or you can come back to have your teeth cleaned when it is convenient for you. If you stay, we will take any necessary X-Rays needed to give us an idea of your bone structure and any problems that may exist. Our X-Rays are digital, so we don’t have to wait for film to be developed. We’ll get an almost instant image of your mouth! We may also take Cone Beam 3D X-Rays during your first visit.
After the X-Rays are completed, we will clean your teeth thoroughly and perform an oral cancer screening. Once these are done, the dentist will perform his dental exam and recommend any necessary treatments at this time. The exam includes cavity detection using our DIAGNOdent cavity detection system.
