Sedation dentistry is a safe and effective method to helping you overcome your fears of the dentist. The process allows you to receive the dental care you need to properly take care of your teeth. Another important benefit of any sedation options is that it allows Dr. Reiter to perform the procedures you need without causing you any pain. You will be able to leave after your procedure feeling good about your smile.

Stop Avoiding the Dentist!

If you are like many other people who experience dental anxiety and avoid the dentist, you may develop problems such as tooth decay or gum disease. When you allow gum disease to go untreated, you run the risk of bone loss, tooth loss, and sore gums that bleed and cause you to feel miserable. Tooth decay that is left untreated can destroy your teeth and move to neighboring teeth as well. When tooth decay becomes severe, your tooth roots may become infected, you may form a painful abscess, or your tooth may begin to fracture.

Instead of avoiding the dentist and dental procedures, talk to the team at Advanced Dental of Las Cruces. We want you to have a beautiful smile, and we will do what we can to make it happen. Dr. Reiter is certified in sedation dentistry and can provide you with a great visit that is free from pain.

Our Sedation Options

If you are interested in learning more about sedation dentistry, don’t hesitate to ask us. We are here to guide you and provide you with the information you need every step of the way. Our sedation options include:

  • Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is one of the most common forms of sedation dentistry and can be used for any age. Nitrous oxide is mixed with oxygen to provide a gas that helps keep you calm and relaxed throughout your appointment. The gas is delivered to you through a mask that is placed over your nose. Dr. Reiter will control the amount of gas you receive, and you will be awake throughout the entire procedure.

  • Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is another type of sedation we use in our office. This level of sedation requires you to take a sedative in the form of a pill. The pill is given to you before your appointment so that it has time to work before we begin your procedure. You will be awake throughout the dental treatment (although some patients drift off), but you will remember little or nothing about the procedure.

We want to help you get the smile you have always wanted. If you are ready to schedule a stress-free appointment, please call Advanced Dental of Las Cruces at (575) 297-0475.
